NOTES FROM TE AROHA.
PROPOSED X-RAY PLANT.
CAMPAIGN FOR FUNDS.
[by telegraph.—own correspondent.] TE AROHA. Wednesday.'
Owing to its distance from Hamilton To Aroha is not well served with facilities for treatment of accidents, and residents are now devising ways and means of raising funds for an X-ray outfit, for which a sum of £SOO is wanted. Residents sustaining fractured limbs in accidents have to he conveyed to tho Hamilton or Thames Hospitals for treatment. Such journeys are sometimes risky, and it is considered the provision of an X-ray plant locally would largely dispense with this necessity.
At a public meeting convened bv tho Mayor, Mr. M. Coulter, a committee, headed by Mesdarnes Hepburn and J. Cochrane, was appointed to institute a campaign for funds for an X-ray plant
The Prime Minister, Mr. Coates, will deliver a political address at To Aroha on October 31.
Prospects are good this year for tennis at To Aroha, chiefly as the result of encouragement given to younger players on the club's new courts at liernesvillo." Those facilities will be extended during the coming season by the appointment of coaches.
The Te Aroha Gun Club held a successful opening last week, when over 100 sportsmen assembled to witness the .shooting. The principal events were won by \V. Home, 11. Jolm.son, S. McCabe, and G. Haves.
