STATIONMASTER PROMOTED
Mr. J. Curry, stilt inn master at Avondale for the last five years, has been promoted to bo stationmastur at Ohakune. On Tuesday evening the staff at the Avondale station and a number of loeaT business men met at Mr. Curry s residence to -bid him farewell and make him a presentation. On behalf of the gathering Mr. McNeil, stationmaster at Mount Eden, presented Mr. Curry with a leather travelling case, in which was packed an afternoon tea set for Mrs. Curry. Numerous speakers testified to the kindly feelings entertained toward Mr. Curry who suitably responded.
