Oct. 20, A message from Los Angeles says Commander Richard Byrd sailed to-day on the whaler C.A., Larson from San Pedro harbour for tho Antarctic. Despatches from Montevideo stated that Sir Hubert Wilkins and two companion explorers arrived there to-day by the steamer Southern Crosii. They will remain two weeks, when they embark on the steamer Victoria for Deception Island to establish a base for their Antarctic expedition.
