CAIRO TO CAPETOWN.
SOUTH AFRICAN AND WIFE.
Australian Press Association—United Service CAPETOWN, Oct. 10. A young South African, Mr, Gerry Bouwer, with his wife, completed a motor trip from Cairo to Capetown in 40 days. Against Bouwer's wish his wifei stowed away in the car at Cairo. Thousands of people took part in a v.-ildi welcome to the couple. The Administrator laid stress on the fact that they had accomplished a feat which many considered to bo impossible. There had been several famous rides in South Africa, but this was one of the most famous.
Bouwer said that in n few years a great north road would be open.
