CHECK ON MOTORISTS.
BREACHES OF REGULATIONS. FRENCH POLICE FINES PLAN. Australian Press Association—United Service PARIS. Oct. 10. A decree has been issued authorising the road police to collect on the spot from motorists fines ranging from 12s to 24s Ari offender so fined will sign an acknowledgment of his conviction. The regulations provide for the ordinary prosecution where other than pecuniary punishment is involved, where damages are claimed, or in cases where tho offender lias been previously convicted } of a sfhiilar offonce. Otherwise the culprit is to have tho choice of being fined on the spot or of a hearing in Court.
