Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received October 11/5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Oct. 10. The lato Mr. William H. Coats, cotton magnate, who died on August 21, left an estato worth £1.305.000, on which the duty amounts to £409,000.

Eight members of tho Coats family died millionaires, prior to the death of Mr. William Hodge Coats, their estates aggregating over £19,000,000. The rise in March m tho price of tho ordinary shares of J. and P. Coats added many millions to their value. Tho holdings of members of the Coats family, including those held in trust, had then an aggregate market valuation of £5,163.440. and the capital appreciation, duo lo tho rise in Stock Exchange prices, since the beginning of the year amounted to £402,045. On the large ordinary shareholding of Major A. Coats alone the market appreciation in the last few months amounted fo £111,426.
