SPEED IN THE AIR.
GREIG'S LATEST FLIGHT
OVER 310 MILES AN HOUR.
British AVirelcss. RUGBY. Oot. 10. Flight-Lieutenant cl'Arcy Greig, in another practice flight at Calshot to-day in the Super-marine Napier seaplane S5, in which he. hopes to break Major Bernardi's flying speod record of 318 it miles an hour, attained a speed estimated at more than 310 miles an hour.
The Cunard liner Aquitania was steaming up the Solent as Lieutenant Greig was about to start. The Calshot air station sent out a wireless message to tho liner asking her to reduco lror speed. Tho captain at once ordered slow speed and tho Aquitania was practically hovc-to while Lieutenant Greig made the flight. . After one more flight, if tho weather conditions continue favourable, Lieutenant Greig will make his official attempt on tho record.
