BOWLING.
WHANGAREI CLUB. OPENING FOR THE SEASON. [KY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI. Thursdsy. The opening of the Whangarei Bowling greens for the season took place this afternoon, in fine weather. A large number of visiting bowlers were present, and wero welcomed by the president of the club. Mr. if. G. King. The Mayor, Mr. L. J. Brake, declared tho greens open for 'play. Mrs. King sending up the first jack and bowl. Subsequently Mr. Brake opened the croquet lawns.
