OBITUARY.
MRS. E. J. HAYTON.
[BY TEI/EGI? APJf. —OWN COBRESI'ONPENT.] WHANGAREI. Thursday. The death occurred on Tuesday at Opuawhanga of Mrs. Emma Jane Tlayton at the age of 91 years. Mrs. Ilavton was born at Sorrell, in Tasmania, and was a daughter of Mr. William Paterson, the eldest son of Colonel Paterson, an early Governor of Tasmania. Rho came to New Zoaland about soven years ago, and lived with her daughter, Mrs. James Bisset, at Opnawhanga. Mrs. Havtoil is survived by three daughters and two sons. MR. ALFRED DENT. [BT TKI.EGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WHANGAREI, Thursday. The death occurred last evening during sleep of Mr. Alfred Dent, of Whangarei. Mr. Dent was born in Whangarei in 1872 and had lived in the district all his life. He had been employed at various times by the Borough Council. He is survived by two sons and three daughters. Ono son died as the result of war injuries.
