WAITERIMU BALL.

On Tuesday tho single ladies of Waiterimu district, with Miss Ansley (chairwoman) and Miss Watt (secretary), held a very successful ball in the Waiterimu Matahuru ITall, there being about 100 guests present. The hall was decorated with Japaneso lanterns interspersed with festoons of cherry blossom and lycopodium. Bright music was supplied by Allen's Huntly Orchestra, and extras were played by Mrs. Wotherspoon, Miss Carley, and Mr. Smith. During the evening several novelty dances were put on and prizes given for them. They included a spot wait?, won by Mr. and Mrs. Grant; a Mikado won by Miss Fitness; a bottlo competition, won by Mr. and Mrs. McGovern; and a medley gem, won by Mr. C. Thompson. About half-past eleven supper was served.
