agricultural schools. DIPLOMA FOR AUCKLANDER. The Auckland Council of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture met yesterday, Mr. T. L. Lancaster, the vicechairman, presiding. Further correspondence with the Minister of Education concerning the proposed agricultural high schools near the city was read. It was reported that several sites in the Panmure district had been inspected by the executive, and New Lynn was suggested as the locality of a second proposed school. The conditions governing the awarding of the Loder Cup, presented by Mr. G. W. Loder, for the preservation and development of the flora of New Zealand, were discussed, and it was decided to request the Auckland Horticultural Society to reconsider its decision concerning them.
The Dominion executive announced that an institute diploma had been awarded to Mr. 11. J. R. Cutler, of New Lynn.
