DEATH WHILE WORKING.
AGED LINOTYPE OPERATOR. [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. A linotype operator, Mr. John Crawford, aged 74, employed at the Press newspaper office, fell from his chair while at his machine to-night and died half-an-hour later. A doctor was called, but attempts to restore him failed. Mr. Crawford joined the service of t,he Press in 1878 and would have completed 50 years of night work if lie had lived until February.
