MOTORISTS' OFFENCES.
THE WEEKLY PROSECUTIONS. SMALLER LIST THAN USUAL. Thete was a smaller list than usual when the weekly prosecutions of motorists were heard in the Police Court yesterday, before Messrs. F. K. Hunt and W. R. McKean, S.M.'s. Fm driving at a dangreous speed E. Orr was fined £5 with while less serious charges of dangerous driving resulted in the imposition of fines of £2 10s with coses on R. G. Tappenden, W. L. D. Harvie, G. McColl and R. J. Ross, and of £2 with costs on M. A. F. Dalton.
Fines oi £1 with costs were imposed on YV. J. Lister for passing a stationary tramcar, J. Curtis for causing obstruction V. H. Bar foot for proceeding without a traffic officer's signal, JI. C. Gleeson for turning to the right, and J. B. O'Conno" for cutting a. corner.
Failure to take out a licence for a motor-omnibus cost \V. E. Taylor and Son £3 with costs, and for failing to notify change of ownership V. 11. Garland was fined £1 lOs with costs. Fines of 10s with costs were imposed on A. J. Lennox and F. A. Urquhart for parking in Queen Street, and D. A. Coleman was ordered to pay costs for pillionriding. the offence having been committed before the amendment lo the Act, which now permits the practice. For driving without any lights on their cars C. A. Anderson, H. Hookham, and E. S. Day were each fined £1 with costs. For having no tail-lights V. Astrella, C. F. Burnett, J. P. Kelloway, H. Liddle, M. Purser, G. T. Puddle, .T. Ross, G. Taylor, A. J. Travers, M. W. Walker and A. W. Wilkin were fined 10s with costs, while C. W. Marshall and H. W. Simmonds, who appeared in Court and explained defects in their lights, were ordered to pay costs.
