HAMILTON BOROUGH.
WORK OF REVALUATION. CYCLISTS AND TAIL-LIGHTS. [|jy TELEGRAPH.* —OWN CORRESPONDENT.'! HAMILTON. Wednesday. The Hamilton Borough Council met this evening, tho Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, presiding. The Valuer-General wrote stating that as soon' as circumstances permitted a start would be made with revaluing the borough. A communication was received from the engineer of public works advising that the council's application for a subsidy of 50 per cent, on the £IOOO unemployed relief loan had been approved.
It was decided to ask the borough solicitor whether a by-law could bo drafted requiring cyclists to show a red tail-light at night. The district lands registrar wrote stating that Bridge Street, which had been a public thoroughfare for 40 years, had not been dedicated. The matter was referred to t.lio borough solicitor.
