Mrs. W. J. Broadfoot, of To Kuiti, is a guest at Cargon. Mrs. Guy Williams has returned to tlio Wairarapa, from Auckland. Miss M. Lowry (Hawko's Bay), and Miss Falkincr, left on Tuesday for Sydney. Mrs. G. H. Swan lias returned to Wanganui from n visit to Kawau and Auckland. Miss Gambrill and Miss Plirnmer have returned to Wellington from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. A. W. Lane, of Christchurch, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. C. H. Worth, of Epsom. Miss Freda Guy returned from England this week and is staying with her sister, Mrs. J. Macky. Mrs. Foreman, who was in Auckland for tho golf tournament, has returned to Miramar, Wellington. Mrs. Hugh Thomson, Mrs. Hill and Miss Rona Thomson, who have been visiting Britain and tho Continent, returned by the Marama. Mrs. A. Hunter and Mrs. Broderick, of Makirikiri, Wanganui, have returned from Auckland, where they took part in the golf tournament. Mrs. Culford Bell has returned from Cambridge, where she has been acting as a judge in the elocutionary sections of tho competition festival. Miss Hanson Gregory, of Ceylon, who has been visiting various parts of the North Island, has returned to Auckland and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. E. J. Pumphrey roturncd last week to Christchurch from a visit to Auckland, where she was the guest of Mrs. Percy Crisp, Dilworth Avenue, Remuera. The annual meeting of the St. George's (Hamilton) branch of tho Mothers' Union was held this week, tho icar, Mr H. E. Jones, presiding. The annual report, which was presented by Mrs. W. F. KentJohnston, stated that tho branch had 61 members. Services and meetings had been held monthly and had been well attended and corporate communions had been held regularly. Sick members had been visited during tho year and a large parcel of gifts, including a sum of money, had been sent to St. Mary's Homes. Tho following had given addresses during the year: Miss Tizard Dr. Mildred Staley, Dr. F. D. Pinfold, Mrs. Ferner, J.f'., Nurse Hooker, Bishop Cherrington, the Rev. F. Harty, and Mrs. Kent-Johnston. Ihe Feast of the Annunciation was observed and an address was given by the Rev. E. Lionel Harvey. Appreciation of the assistance given by the Revs. N. E. Jones and J. Adams was acknowledged. A wreath had been placed on the cenotaph on Anzac Day. The report was adopted.

The Belmont Association Football Club held its annual social evening and dance at St. Michael's and All Angel's Parish Hall at Belmont' last evening. Medals and shields won during the year were presented by Mr. R. Harrison, headmaster of the Belmont School. The evening's entertainment took the form of songs and other items, which were given by .Mrs. E. Blenkarno, Miss Doris Moore, Mr. J. Pikesloy and Mr. F. Hickman, and at intervals dancing was enjoyed by tlio large number present. In his address Mr. Harrison said that the club had a very successful season and that by the cooperation of the old boys they had reorganised the work in connection with this. Altogether the club had secured sixty-three wins to three losses, which was a great credit to the captains and members of the teams. They also had with the club the captain of the Auckland representative team that won the championship this year. Medals were then given to the players of the sixth and soventh grade for championships, and also to the most improved players in each team. These were :—Seniors, R. Bach ; third (open), J. Robinson; third, L. Wallis; fourth, J. Brentnall; fifth, C. Ashwin; sixth, B. Smith; seventh A, Frank Williamson; seventh, A. East. A medal for tho most consistent player in the senior team was given by Mr. R. Taylor and was awarded to W. Lithgow. The Reid Cup for the most improved team was given to the senior grade. The Harrison Shield for the team with the best record was given lo the seventh A team. Various other donations had been given by interested members of tho district.
