DAIRY COMPANY BALLOT
TWO PROPOSALS REJECTED. REIMBURSING GUARANTORS. FERTILISER WORKS PURCHASE. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON. Wcfincdny. Two questions, whether the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., should take over the Challenge Phosphate Works and whether tho company should partially reimburse Messrs. ,T. Barugh, K. C Ranks ana the estate of the late Mr. 'J'. Paterson for the loss they sustained as guarantors in connection with the New Zealand Bacon and Meat Packing Company, Ltd. (in liquidation),- were submitted to the shareholders in the form oi a postal referendum. Both propositions were rejected by overwhelming majorities.
The result of the referendum was as follows: —Bacon guarantors' reimbursement:; For, 136,145; against, 290,083. Fertiliser proposal: For the purchase, 30,473; against. 337,469
