RIFLE SHOOTING.

CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB. Tho City and Suburbs Rifle Club opened its championship series for the season with a ten-shot shoot at 500 and 600 yards, under perfect conditions. Thero was a largo attendance which made tho range accommodation available inadequate. Shooting was of a high standard for the beginning of the season. Rifleman A. J. Pietcrson's 95 being a brilliant effort. Rifleman *\V. H. Russell shot, very solidly in tho B grade, but found it impossible to concedo the handicaps to those who finished ahead of him. Rifleman Pieterson and Mayhill won a spoon each and the three top men in each grade won three, two and one trophy points respectively. Details of the shooting aro:— A Grade.—A. J.
