ORPHANS' CLUB OFFICERS.
BIRKENHEAD - NORTHCOTE. The 1928 session of the Birkenhead ami Northcoto Orphans' Club was concluded on Saturday evening, when the annual meeting was held. The president, Mr. J. W. Lethbridgc, reviewed tho club's activities for the past session, which had been very successful financially and socially. After allowance for depreciation on the club's assets, there was a surplus of £33 on the year's operations. The election of officers resulted President, Dr. J. W. Craven; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. W. Messenger, R. B. Brown, E. C. Davey, and N. E. Heath; committee, Messrs. W. U. Lilburn, E. J. Chiplin, W. Pike, C. Powell, and 0. Tarbutt; secretary, Mr. D. M. Lawson; treasurer, Mr. T. L. Wernham; programme steward, .Mr. R. J. Thompson; chief steward, Mr. A. W. Millar; auditor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade. Mr. H. D. Boles was presented with the badge of past president. An enjoyable musical programme was given.
