ROTARY CLUB.
THE WEEKLY LUNCHEON. The weekly luncheon o£ the Auckland Rotary Club was held in the Lewis Eady, Ltd., concert ball yesterday, the president, Mr. G. W. Htitchison, presiding over a largo attendance of members. The president reported that the date for the next club conference, to be held at Orewa, had been fixed for November 9, but members pointed out that this date would conflict with the itinerary of the commerce train, with which many members would be travelling. The matter was referred back to the board for further consideration. Birthday honours, proposed by Dr., E. P. Neale, were accorded Archbishop Averill, Mr. H. H. Pollard and Mr. J. J. Kingston. Four new members, Messrs. Frank Wiseman, George White, E. Dickson and T. E. SutclifTe, were admitted to membership, bringing the total to 131. The visitors present were Professor J. Riddel, of Pahnerston North, Mr. R. Wallace, of Napier, Mr. F. A. Longuet, of Wellington, and Mr. W. Timewell, of Christchurch.
