Cochet (France) won the Pacific Southwest tennis championship. In tho final he defeated Boussus, 2—6, 6—4, 6—3, 6-3. Boussu3 and Anne Harper (San Francisco) won the mixed doubles title. They defeated Van Ryn and Madge Gladman (Los Angeles), 6—l, 6—2. MARKSMEN AT SYDNEY. SCORES IN CHAMPIONSHIPS. Australian ar.d N.Z. Press Association. (Received October 8. 11.55 p.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 8. Tho Anzac rifle camp suffered in the gale yesterday, but the championship shooting was resumed this morning with matches which count for tho King's prize. In the Mark Foy match, 500 yards, O'Donuell (Junee) and Eatson (Melbourne), tied, both scoring tho possible. O'Donnell won on the shootoff. In Le Maitre match (600 yards), the result was:—Cole (Waverlev) 1; Pinwick (Muswell), 2; Brook, 3. E. M. Yennell (Masterton, New Zealand), Spencer (Moree), and Harris (Newcastle), each scored 49. Venncll took 110s. |
