SALE OF KAMO PROPERTY. DECISION AT WHANGAREI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WH AN GAR EI, Monday. The long-standing controversy over the Old People's Home at Springs Flat. Kamo. was brought to a head at the meeting of the Whangarei Hospital Board to-day, when the board 'decided to sell tho three acres embracing all the buildings, mineral baths and springs. Tenders are to be called. The dispute has been in progress for some years, To-day's voting was 6 to 3, with Mr. R. J. Hosking absent. The board also decided to seek the Minister's consent to erect a new home at the back of the maternity annexe in the hospital grounds, at an approximate cost of £SOQO. The new home will accommodate 30 people. The board decided to erect a new T.B. shelter to hold eight males. Application was made by St. John Ambulance Brigade to obtain support from the board and local bodies for the purchase of a new ambulance. Dissatisfaction with tho present arrangement with tho Public Works Department for architectural services was expressed by members and it was decided to terminate the arrangement except for the work now current in respect to the children's ward extension.
