CRUSHING OF ORE.
THE OHINEMURI DISTRICT. PROPOSED PUBLIC PLANT. [BY TELEGRAPH.-—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIHI, Monday The chairman of the Ohinemuri District Mining and Prospecting Committee, Mr. W. Marshall, has received a telegram from Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P., with reference t-o Government assistance toward equipping the Rising Sun Goldmining Company's battery at Owharoa for use as a public crushing plant. Mr. Samuel states that certain provision has been made on the Estimates for the scheme, and that negotiations will bo commenced when the Decessary statutory authority has been obtained. This is interpreted to mean that the Minister of Mines intends to grant the company a loan of £3OOO and subsidise the scheme at the rate of £750 a year for the first, four years.
