RETURNING OFFICER'S SUIT. SYDNEY, Oct. G. A libel action in which Thonms Arthur claimed £2OOO from the Bathurst National Advocate, for statements arising out of what is known as the ballot box scandal, was concluded to*duy. Plaintiff* who had been a returning officer, was alleged to have allowed improper ballot boxes to be used in a certain ballot.. A verdict was given for plaintiff for £4OO damages.
