FIRE ON A STEAMER.

PETROL CARGO ON BOARD. TUG TO HER ASSISTANCE. Australian Press Association—United Service CAPETOWN, Oct. 5. The steamer Beau Bassin, with 14.000 cases of petrol on board, is on fire at Port Louis, Mauritius. Water is being poured into the raging flames from a tug. It had been intended that the vessel : should sad for Reunion to-morrow. The Beau .Bassin is a ship of 1112 tons, built in 1899 at Greenock, and is owned by the Ramsay Shipping * Company, Limited. London. She was formerly named Frnstroom.
