ARREST IN RIO DE JANEIRO. VALUABLE DIAMONDS MISSING. Australian mid N.Z. Press Association. (Received October 7, 5.4S p.m.) RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. .G Tlio police hclievo they have unearthed huge smuggling operations in jewels which have been carried on for 12 years. They have arrested Jacquirn Miranda, a member ol the harbour customs staff, and they are now trying to trace a package of diamonds worth £30,000. The police are unable to tell whether the package was safely carried ashore, oxdropped overboard and for ever lost in the middle of the deep harbour of Bio do Janeiro
