G. A groat gathering to-morrow at Wiener Tseustadt, 30 miles south-west of Vienna, will represent a display of strength in which three parties, namely, the Ileimwost (Austrian Fascists), tho Scliutzbund '(Socialists), and tho Government, will tako part. The town already resembles a field of battle. The Socialists arc parading 20.000 strong as a counter-demonstration to a parade of an equal number of Fascists, who arc assembling at the opposite end of the town. Between these aro tho Government forces —2000 steel-helmcted soldiers, 3000 gendarmes, Austria's only motor field battery, two horse batteries and machineguns. They have been in order to prevent, a clash. Three hundred extra beds have been provided at tho hospital and 30 stretchers aro available. Schoolboys have vacated the boarding school in tho town, which will bo used as a barracks.. All army leavo has been stopped. The Socialists intend to prevent a rumoured march on Vienna by tho Fascists analogous to Mussolini's march on Rome.
