The senior athletic championship was won by J Flett. There was a closer contest in tho junior championship, K. Laurence securing tho honour hy half a point.

CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING. CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL EVENT. [BX TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CAMBRIDGE, Sunday. Tho Cambridge District High School's initial steeplechase was held yesterday, 100 contestants taking part. Tho course was a littlo over three miles, from the High School over Mr. J. Taylor's property. Bardowie, and back to tho school. Tho chase, which was run under sealed handicaps, was a fine contest. Results were:— H. Carter ,3m 355), 1: A. Pennell (lm 21s), 2: E. Richmond (245). 3. L. Parker, who finished sixth, put up tho fastest time. Carter and Pennell reached the school gates together, when tho former sprinted and won com iortably.
