The wickets wero a,ll of midsummer hardness and were in fairly good order. The best acoro of the day was made by Cox (Riccarton), who scored 124 runs by sound cricket. Linwood. batting against St. Alban's, made 37G runs for eight wickets (F. Smith 85. Tt. .T. Read 47, F. Kerr 55). High School Old Boys, in a match against Old Collegians, wero' all out for 141. Bowling for Collegians Talbot took five wickets for 25, and Lester for 37. Old Collegians had lost, four wickets for 02 runs when stumps were drawn. Riccarton made runs speedily against East Christchurch. which team was without last year's good bowler. McEwin. Riccarton had Bcored 318 nine for seven wickets when stumps wore drawn (Cox 124, Powell 54). Sydenham, in their first innings against West, Christchurch, made 203 (J. Philpott 55, J. Young 70). Bowling for West Christchurch Condliffe took four wickets for 40 runs. .Tefcoatc threo for 16, and Moffat three for 81. West Christchurch bad lost two wickots for 32 run 3 when otumps wero drawn.
