Four thousand men at the Lallaguda workshop of the Nizam of Hyderabad's guaranteed State railway declared a lightning strike. The directors of the great Tata steel works at Jamshedpur sent an ultimatum to the men to return by August 20 otherwise new hands would be engaged.
