DELAYS TO TRAINS.
MISHAP AT AUCKLAND. MINOR -DERAILMENT OCCURS. A short, delay to the suburban train service was caused at tlio Auckland station yesterday morning, by a passenger car becoming; derailed across two sets of points. A rako of cars was being shunted, and one of them jumped the rails when halfway across the points. It would have toppled over but for a polo in the yard, which held it upright. The mishap prevented the shunters from getting cars in and out of the yards, and us a consequence a number of suburban trains were delayed. None of the mam services was interfered with. With the aid of a crane the car was replaced on the rails in about two hours. The paint and woodwork were extensively damaged. Another delay to the train service occurred at Drury yesterday morning, when the first express from Wellington was held up for about 15 minutes. The undergear of the locomotive drawing the early morning goods train from Auckland damaged the points at Drury, and interfered with the automatic signalling. No train could get through until this had been repaired. The limited express was not delayed at Drury, but was running late owing to a delay of 20 minutes at Mercer, caused by a broken axle-box.
