FOR CHILDREN'S PARTY.
CANDLES YOU CAN EAT! This sounds a funny kind of sweet, doesn't it? But it's really very nice. You will need as many apples as people, the same amount of blanched (whitened) almonds, and some lemon juice. Mummy will give you these, I expect; and it would be as well to have her by you while you are making these-sweets. Peel lhe apples and pop immediately into the lemon juice, otherwise they will turn brown. Now scoop out the core very carefully and put an almond or two in its place. These will look like a candle with its wick—only you can cat it all!
