DEVONPORT WATER METERS.
Sir, —May I protest against tho Devonport Borough Conucil proposing to enforce ratepayers to install water-meters at an annual rental of 7s 6d ? Considering that the lake water corrodes all meters what is tho use of putting the ratepayers to unnecessary expense, when there are such a lot of them unemployed ? I am a ratepayer and one of the sufferers, and I object to having to pay for a water-meter when my children need clothing and food. A Ratepayer. .
