ALSATIAN DOGS.
Sir, —I wonder why the Farmers' Union lias not asked the Government to prohibit the importation of these dogs. Western Australia has prohibited them on account of their dangerous character "and sheep-worrying proclivities. I read many Home papers and it is amazing the numbers of cases of sheep-worrying duo to Alsatians and the large number of peoplo bitten and injured, including the owners of the dogs, as they are most treacherous. It would pay to destroy every Alsatian in New Zealand, and to give the owners £IOO each dog. If these dogs get established here and cross with the lurcher or collie, they will be a sourse of very heavy loss to the country in sheepworrying. Sheeffarmer.
