CHILDREN'S WARD ADDITION.

BOARD APPROVES PLANS. [BY TELEGRAM!. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] "WHANGAREI, Monday. Plans for the proposed extensions to the children's ward at the Whangarei Hospital, estimated to cost £825, were approved at a meeting of the Hospital Board to-day and were forwarded to the department for its sanction. It was stated that the board had abolished the share-milking arrangement on its farm at Kamo Springs and has appointed a working foreman, a gardener and a housekeeper.

In July 117 patients were admitted to the hospital and 113 were discharged. Four deaths occurred. At the beginning of the present month there were 80 patients in the institution.
