ST. MARY'S CONVENT.

SUCCESSFUL DANCE. The Manchester Unity Oddfellows' HaM presented a brilliant scene last eveninp; when a plain and fancy-dress dance wan held to raise funds for St. Mary's Convent. Many children from the convent were present in fancy dross, and as the little ones danced together for the first hour of the evening, the brilliant and fantastic colourings of their fancy costumes made a picturesque sight. Brightlycoloured streamers provided the decorations for the ballroom and the stage was set aside for the orchestra, which played with vigour the latest dance music. The ladies of the committeo present were: Mrs. Drysdale, who wore a frock of black georgette, with a skirt of cream embroidered lace; Miss Grace, frock of geranium red georgette, beaded in black and silver; Mrs. Tyler, beige and navy crepe de chine; Mrs. Keenan, powder blue embroidered georgette; Mrs. Emmett Kelly, shell pink georgette, with crystal beading; Miss Mavis Grevatt, Rose Mar : ij georgette, trimmed with silver sequins; Mrs. Snedden, flame georgette; Mrs. O'Brien, honey-coloured georgette, beaded in gold; Miss Peggy Flynn, black georgette, with a pink rose on one shoulder; Mrs. Kiley, apricot lace frock; Mrs. Grevatt, black georgette; Mrs. Buxton, black lace, with Oriental-beaded front panel; Mrs. Garland, black georgette, relieved with emerald green; Mrs. Darby, black georgette and lace; Mrs. M. Maguire, pompadour pink georgette, relieved with gold lace; Mrs. Robinson, ciel blue charmelaine and diamante; Mrs. Prendergast, cedarwood georgette, beaded in silver; Miss Daphne Knight, black georgette and diamante.
