BEAUTIFYING PAEROA.
SOCIETY'S ACTIVE YEAR. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] PAEROA, Sunday. At the annual meeting of the Paeroa Beautifying Society, the president, Mr. W. Marshall, asked for special attention by the public and committee to tho collection of outstanding subscriptions amounting to £ll9. The report stated that during the year trees and grass had been planted in four streets. The society had also contributed £SO to the unemployment fund, and had accomplished splendid work for Paeroa. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. W. Marshall; vice-presi-dents. Messrs. J. W. Silcork and C. N. O'Neill; committee, Messrs. E. W. Porritt, G. H. Taylor, E. Edwards, W. D. Nicholas, j. Walmsley, J. H. Hare and Miss Riekard; hon. secretary and treasurer, Miss D. W. Butler; auditor, Mr. W. C. Alexander.
