ANGLICAN CLERGY.
REFRESHER COURSE HELD. Members of the Auckland Diocesan Anglican clergy have benefited by a refresher course held at St. John's College, Tamaki, during tho week. They went into residence on Monday evening, the course concluding with a celebration of tho lloly Communion in Bishop Solwyn's old college chapel yesterday morning. Tho course was devoted to addresses and discussions on devotional and academic subjects, Archbishop Averill attending and taking part in nearly all tho meetings. The Rev. G. C. Cruicksliank delivered a short course on pastoral work, tho Rev. W. G. Monckton lectured on the devotional value of a study of the Greek Testament, and Canon H. K. Archdall, headmaster of King's College, dealt with sacramental worship. The evening discussions were opened by the Revs. E. E. Bamford and A. W. Payne and Archdeacon Simkin. The last address was of an exceptionally interesting nature, dealing with some of tho more important activities of early Church history in New Zealand.
