REPLY FROM NEW ZEALAND. TEXT OF COMMUNICATION. [BIT TELEGIIAFH.— I'RESS association.! WELLINGTON. Friday. The Prime Minister, Mr. C'oates, announced to-day that the reply of the Gavernmcnt to the invitation extended to New Zealand by the United States Government to become an original party, to the proposed multilateral treaty for the renunciation of war was conveyed to the United States Charge d'Affaires in London (in the absence of the United States Ambassador) by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Sir Austen Chamberlain, on May 30. The terms of the reply are as follows : " His Majesty's Government in New Zealand has received with warm appreciation tlio invitation extended to New Zealand to become an original party to the treaty proposed by the Government of the United States for the renunciation of war. It welcomes the opportunity, in co-operation with His Majesty's Governments in other parts of the British Empire, of associating itself with the Government of the United States in this movement to add greater security to the peace of the world, and it will be happy to share in any negotiations leading to the conclusion of the proposed treaty."
