HOCKEY.
LADIES' ASSOCIATION. MEDAL FOR SENIOR PLAYERS. A meeting of the executive of tha Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association was presided over by Miss P. H. Dawson. There was a full attendance of delegates, including representatives of Whangarei. Waipa, Tauranga, Franklin and Rotorua. It was stated record entries had been received for the King's Birthday seven-a-side tournament. It was agreed to accept tho medal to be presented bv Mr. Bernecker, the trophy to go to the most, consistent player in the senior grade, and the selection to bo made by the senior grade selector. Tho Papatoetoe Club's request that a second team be accepted for tho senior grade from the beginning of the second round was refused. Rotorua Association's application for affiliation was granted. Miss A. Twinamo was appointed to act as delegate for Rotorua and Miss K. Mofiitt as delegate for Kaipara. Mr. D. Fraser was appointed junior grade selector in place of Mr. Spooner. It was decided that the Papatoetoe-Papakura match in the junior grade on June 9 be played at Papakura. The following transfers were approved: —Y.W.C.A. Club: Miss M. Matthews and Miss M. Finch, from senior prade to junior A. Mount Eden: Miss H. Clark, from senior to junior, and Miss M. Bell from junior to senior grade. At the termination of the meeting a very interstinjr lecture on the game was delivered by Miss P. H. Dawson. OPOTIKI v. WHAKATANE. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI, Friday. Tho Whakatane men's hockey team will visit Opotiki on Monday to play for the Shalfoon Shield, held by Opotiki. The local team is as follows:—V. Gordon, H. Shalfoon, J. Larmer, Atkinson, Joll, Hare, E. Shalfoon, H. Hawkins, 11. Burnett, W. Burton and Honnali.
