MILKING SHORTHORNS.

DOMINION BREEDERS MEET. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Friday. Breeders from all parts of the Dominion were present at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association, held in Hamilton last evening. Mr. It. ,V. Brown presided. The president reported there had been a marked increase in the number of pedigree milking Shorthorns registered in New Zealand during last year, and a steady demand for the breed at improved pi'ices had been noted. The membership in the association had also increased, and stood at over 500. Congratulations were extended to various breeders who had been successful in winning show championships. A marked improvement in the financial position of the association was also referred to. The performances of a number of cows of the breed in connection with butter-fat records, formed the subject of complimentary reference in the report. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr. J. Bateman; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. E. Wall and A. H. Mason; secretary, Mr. A. W. Green, Hamilton.
