SHEEP DOG TRIALS.
THE TUAKAU FIXTURE. FINAL DAY'S RESULTS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TUAKAU. Friday, The first annual trials held by the Tuakau Sheep Dog Trial Club were concluded today. On each of the three days over whidh trials have extended, there has been a good attendance of spectator?., while the way in which the trials have been conducted has been the subject o£ favourable comment. Altogether, the trials are regarded as having proved very successful. The results of the two events decided today are as follows: Zig-zag Iluiitaway (17 entries, possible points 45). R. Hollis' Tipperary, 35 points, J; J. Staples' Moss, 34 points, 2; M. M. Scott's Nell, 32 points. 3. • Head, pull back, hold in ring and huntaway (18 entries, possible points 50).—M. M. Scott's Nell. 39 points, 1: R. Hollis' Tipperary, 37 points, 2: M. M. Scott's King, 36 points. 3. . After the last event the judge, Mr. King, gave an exhibition of using a dog to pull sheep into the ring, drive them to the pensledge used for bringing them out on to the paddock and pen them on the sledge again through the 2ft. opening forming the. door of the pen. This proved a very interesting finale to the clever work witnessed during the trials.
