THEFT OF OVERCOAT.
INCIDENT IN DANCE HALL. Theft by finding was denied in the Police Court yesterday by Jacob Kahelu, dance hail proprietor, who was charged with stealing a coat belonging to Lily Allen, who valued it at £2 10s. Statements were made to the effect that the coat had been left in a dance hall and that Kahelu, who had found it, had not returned it to the owner, but had given it away. Eventually the coat had been identified by the owner, but it had been altered. Kahelu said the coat had not been claimed and he could find no trace of the
owner. • _ . Holding accused guilty, Mr. F. K Hunt, S.M., convicted and fined Kuhek £2 and directed him to pay the value o the coat, to the owner.
