BOOKSTALL UPSET.
INCIDENT AT NORTH COTE. COURT DISMISSES CHARGE. Suspected of having upset the Auckland Harbour Board's bookstall on the wharf sit Northcote a fortnight ago, Lee Trcvclyn Devlin, a young man, •tvas charged in the Police Court yesterday with committing mischief by damaging the stall to the extent of 305.. It was said the stall had been upset by someone hooking a crane-rope on to the door and so lifting it. up. Two men gave evidence of having seen Devlin on tho wharf sit a time when there was 110 one else about and immediately afterwards the stall had been capsized. In a statement to the police, Devlin said he was drunk and could remember ingMr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. : I have a doubt about this. It was a stupid thing to do, "whoever was responsible. I. will give defendant the benefit of the doubt. The case will be dismissed.
