The Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society has arranged for a special excursion to the Waikato Winter Show and the Ruakura State Farm on Wednesday. A special train, starting from Auckland, leaves Pukekoha at 7.55 a.m. and leaves Hamilton on the return trip at 8.30 p.m. DISPLAY AT WHAKATANE. PROCESSIONS IN STREETS. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.) WHAKATANE. Sunday. The Winter Show was continued yesterday in beautiful weather. On Friday evening the town was en fete, when a torchlight procession was held, people in decorated costumes and masks taking part. The procession was headed by the band* There was much in the way of entertainment. Yesterday afternoon there was a procession of decorated vehicles, which inarched from Pohaturoa Rock, at the entrance to the town, to the show grounds. Cars and lorries were decorated with all kinds of artistic and fantastic designs. The show concluded in the evening. The fixture has undoubtedly been a great success, and the financial returns have also exceeded anticipation.?.
