Hall, of Wellington, and Mr. S. 11. Smedley, of Rangiora, are at the Royal Hotel. Dr. C. McDowell, of Auckland, wfyo has been on the staff of the Auckland Hospital, will leave for England by the Zealandic to-day. Dr. McDowell will re* main in England for some years. Staff-Captain Percival Dale, of (ho building staff of the Salvation Army, Melbourne, arrived at Auckland by the Marama yesterday. He is the architect - of the army's new congress hall in Grey's Avenue Colonel C. W. Saunders, chief .accountant at the Salvation Army headquarters, ; Melbourne, arrived at Auckland by the Marama yesterday on a month's furlough. Colonel Saunders, who was at one time stationed in Wellington, is a son of one of the two pioneers of the Salvation Army in Australia. Mr. J. R. Liddy, of New York, Mr. H. Range, of Paris, Mr. C. R. McNivenand Mr. C. D. Philip, of Sydney, Mr, E. A. Stallard, of London, Mr. C. Atkinson, of Christchurch, and Mr. T. B. Heffer, ' of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. - Rana Wagg, Mr. W. McDonald and Mr. E. R. O'Connor, of Wellington, Mr. A. W. Edmondson, of Melbourne, Mr. H. G. Such, of Sydney, Mr. C. Fox, of Christchurch, Mr. A. Huddleston, of Blenheim, and Mr. A. H. Menzies, of Whangarei, are at the Central Hotel. Mr. J. S. McMurray, the head of a large Canadian rubber manufacturing company, with headquarters at Toronto, arrived at Auckland by the Marama from Sydney yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. McMurray are on a world tour, and contemplate spending two or three months in the Dominion. They are at the Grand Hotel. Dr. Leslie J. Thompson, of Auckland, has returned after a 12 months' tour abroad. Accompanied by Mrs. Thompson, he visited England,-the Continent and the United States, where he joined a party of surgeons from the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Medicine, England, and inspected a number of American hospitals.
