TOWN BOARD MEETING. At a meeting of the Manurewa Town Board a letter was received from the One Tree Hill Road Board suggesting that a conference of local bodies should be called to consider the question of the annual hospital levy. The suggestion was favourably received. The Main Highways Board wrote drawing the board's attention to the condition of the approaches to the overhead bridge on the Great South Road and those to the Mahia Stream Bridge. it was ascertained repairs had been effected some time ago and the matter was left to the foreman. It was decided to put in hand repairs to Grand Vue Road and Halsoy Road. The minutes of a conference of the four local bodies which employ the traffic inspector were confirmed. At the conference the purchase of a load meter was recommended, as was the granting of the services of the inspector to the Ellerslie Town Board, the fee to be £4 4s a day. A letter was received from a ratepayer stating that while her child was in hospital it had contracted an additional serious illness. No attempt had been made by the hospital authorities to notify her, continued the letter. It was decided to forward the letter to the hospital authorities suggesting that parents should be notified in such cases.
