TE ATATU INSTITUTE.
The usual monthly meeting of the Te Atatu Women's Institute was held on May 3. There was a fair attendance of members, and in the absence of the president the chair was taken by the vicepresident, Mrs. Tickle. Unfortunately Mrs. Dorman, who had promised to give a demonstration on tray-making, was prevented by illness from attending. The afternoon was spent in community singing followed by a roll call on the uses of the lemon. Needlework was distributed among the members, which, when completed, will be sent to the hospital auxiliary. The hostesses for afternoon tea were Misses McLeod and Brokenshire. The meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
