THE AUCKLAND CLUB. Ninety players took part in the bogey competition tor the George Cup at Middlemore on Saturday. There was no wind and the course was in good condition. The 75yds. handicap was an exciting race, and J. Green beat the yeteran. A. Clarke, by the narrowest of margins. The steeplechase, however, provided h great contest, and Cooper and Savidan were seen in a good finish. The former, who ran so well against Savidan at Carlaw Park two weeks ago, showed considerable improvement, and on this occasion Cooper reversed th<> positions. YACHTING. THE AKARANA CLUB. RACE FOR OUTBOARD MOTORS. Two races for outboard motor-boats were held by -he Akarana Yacht Club on Saturday afternoon. Both events were decided over a short course, starting and finishing off the clubhouse in Judge's Bay. In the first race the five competitors started off the mark within seconds of one another. Humbug and Bacteria soon went to the fron - and » very interesting contest was fough\ out between them.
