EARTHQUAKE DISASTERS.
MOPE GREEK SHOCKS. DESTRUCTION IN CORINTH. BRITISH AID TENDERED. WARSHIPS FROM MALTA. HOSPITAL VESSEL GOING. (Received April 26, 5.45 p.m.) British Wireless. RUGBY, April 25. Further earthquake shocks were felt last night and early this morning in Corinth, Greece, and were felt to a lesser degree in Athens. Houses in Corinth, which had previously escaped, collapsed. Tho casualties are now placed at .13 killed and 22 injured. Sunday's fatal shock was the third of a series. Considerable damage was done to the antiquities of Corinth. Foodstuffs have been despatched by the Greek Government to the refugees and the British colony in Athens has opened a relief fund. Lady Loraine, wife of Sir Percy Loraine, British Minister at Athens, yesterday visited Corinth. Only about 50 houses are now standing in Corinth, and these are marked with dissures. Neighbouring villages are also in ruins. Calamaki was completely demolished. Many people are still missing. Sir Percy Loraine yesterday telegraphed to the Commander-in-Chief of the Mediterranean Fleet requesting that help should be sent. This met with an immediate response. The aircraft-carrier Eagle, the flotilla-leader Stuart, and the supply ship Perthshire were at once despatched from Malta. They are to be followed by the cruisers Ceres and Calypso and the hospital ship Maine.
