COMMONWEALTH LINE.

BOYCOTT OF KYLSANTS. UNION THREAT REPEATED. (Received April 26, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, April 26. The president of the Marine Stewards Union says the marine transport group of workers cannot be deterred by the threats made by the Prime Minister, Mr. Bruce, from giving effect to the decision to declare Lord Ivylsant's ships black, in consequence of his purchase of the Commonwealth Line.

The chairman of the Commonwealth Shipping Board, Mr. H. G. B. Larkin, says the sale of the ships to the White Star Line is most satisfactory, particularly as the Bay steamers have reached an age when the cost of their upkeep is rapidly increasing. Lord Kylsant has agreed to take over suitable officers, engineers and other ratings already employed on these vessels.
